In order to ensure professionals emphasized in the directory are knowledgeable, experienced and dedicated to animal friendly methods, IIACAB seeks qualified members for endorsement.
IIACAB Endorsed Professionals Benefits (on top of Member's benefits):
IIACAB urges its members and all professionals to seek certification from professional associations. IIACAB uses certification as a means of helping ensure it endorses qualified individuals as professionals.
The IIACAB's goal is to provide the best directory of professionals it can. In choosing professional associations that provide certification that IIACAB recognizes, they must assure the following qualifications of their members:
In accordance with these requirements, IIACAB recognizes the following professional certifications toward IIACAB endorsement of professionals for the Directory:
- International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC) Certified Members
- Delta Society Australia: Accreditation within the Delta Accredited Dog Trainers Group, Certificate IV (http://www.deltasocietyaustralia.com.au/)
- Board Certified Veterinary Behaviorists
- Animal Behavior Society (ABS) Certified Applied Animal Behaviorists
- Certified Pet Dog Trainers (CPDT)
- National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors (NADOI) Endorsement
- CAP 3 or higher through Kay Laurence
IIACAB will endorse as a Professional Animal Trainer any members who are:
- Graduates of a Companion Animal Sciences Institute advanced dog training diploma with the Practicum component.
- or, IAABC Certified Members,
- or, Accreditation within the Delta Accredited Dog Trainers Group
- or, CPDT's,
- or, NADOI Endorsed
- or, CAP 3 certified through Kay Laurence
- and, they agree to work in accordance with the IIACAB Methodological Stance.
- and, possess professional liability insurance where applicable and for services provided or work with an employer with appropriate insurance.
IIACAB will endorse as a Professional Animal Behavior Consultant any members who are:
- Graduates of a Companion Animal Sciences Institute behavior consulting diploma with the Practicum and Supervision component.
- or, IAABC Certified Members,
- or, ABS Certified Applied Animal Behaviorists,
- or, Board Certified Veterinary Behaviorists,
- and, they agree to work in accordance with the IIACAB Methodological Stance.
- and, possess professional liability insurance where applicable and for services provided or work with an employer with appropriate insurance.

- Indicate that you have professional liability insurance as required
- Explicit statement of agreement in IIACAB Methodological Stance
